Hoveland records 300th strikeout; fifth Roo in program history to reach that milestone
GAME 1 | KC-3 v Central Arkansas-7 | INNING-BY-INNING
- 1 / 1-1 | Ally Vonfeldt started the game with a solo shot over the right-centerfield fence to get the Roos on top early, but Central Arkansas responded with a sac fly to score a run.

- 2 / 1-1 | The UCA pitcher continued to live outside, and Sydney Reid was the only one to connect in the second inning. Hoveland responded by sitting down two Bears on strikeouts looking.
- 3 / 1-1 | Two hard groundouts to second base halted KC in the third. On defense, Hoveland counterbalanced a leadoff hit with two more strikeouts to shut down the Bears.

- 4 / 1-3 | A pair of walks were not fruitful in pushing across a run for KC. The Bears hit a leadoff double off the outfield fence that started a big two-run inning.
- 5 / 1-5 | Central Arkansas tacked on two more in the fifth. Jenna Milan came into pitch with bases loaded and the Roos' defense got out of it with a 5-2-3 double play.
- 6 / 3-7 | Alexis D'Ambrosio singled up the middle to bring in the first run and Katelyn Garcia followed with a double to bring in D'Ambrosio for one final push. In the bottom half of the inning, the Bears responded with two runs of their own.
- 7 / 3-7 | The Roos were retired in a row in their last at-bat.
- Vonfeldt hit her first homerun of the season and 14th of her career, which is the sixth most in program history.
- Hoveland pitched 4.1 innings and recorded five strikeouts, pushing her to 302 career strikeouts, seven shy of the fourth most strikeouts in program history.
In today's game against Central Arkansas, Mia Hoveland recorded 5 strikeouts to surpass 300 career strikeouts. She currently has 302 strikeouts, seven shy of fourth most strikeouts in program history.

GAME 2 | KC-10 v Pine Bluff-2 | INNING-BY-INNING
- 1 / 2-0 | D'Ambrosio and Vonfeldt scored the first duo for the Roos and Camryn Stickel held the Lady Lions with two strikeouts in the first.
- 2 / 5-0 | Karnes started the hit parade with a double, followed by doubles from Kloe Hilbrenner and D'Ambrosio put three more runs on the board for Kansas City.
- 3 / 7-0 | Sydney Reid started off the inning with a hit and Karnes doubled again to tally up two more runs for KC.
- 4 / 7-2 | Kansas City was held scoreless in the fourth and Pine Bluff blasted a two-run homerun in response.
- 5 / 10-2 | Karnes completed her night with a two-run homerun and another run came in on an error to push the Roos to run-rule margin. Stickel struck out the side in the final frame to finish the game.

GAME 2 | KC-10 v Pine Bluff-2 | STATS TO NOTE
- Stickel earned her second win of the season in the circle and set a career-high with nine strikeouts.
- Karnes had a night at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and her first career homerun.
- The Roos combined for six doubles, the most doubles in a single game since Feb. 24, 2013, when Kansas City defeated Nicholls State, 16-3.
- Kansas City had a season-high 11 hits, while seven different Roos were etched into the hit column.
The Roos will wrap up the Michelle Short Memorial Classic tomorrow with a matchup against St. Louis at 1:30 p.m. and second game against Arkansas- Pine Bluff directly following.
