MBB Set to Finish Regular Season at Home

The Roos will take on South Dakota tomorrow and South Dakota State on Saturday with both games set to tip at 7 p.m.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â Kansas City Men's Basketball enters the final two games of the regular season with 18 wins, which ties the 2001-02 and 2016-17 teams for the second-most in program history. The 1991-92 team holds the record for most wins in a season with 20.

- Depending on the results of this weekend's games, KC could finish as high as second or as low as fifth in the final Summit League standings.
- The Roos have won ten games in the Swinney Center, tied with the 2010-11 Roos for the most wins inside the Swinney Center in a single season.
- With 11 Summit League victories, the Roos are one win away from tying the mark for most conference wins in program history. The 2004-05 Roos won 12 games as members of the Mid-Continent Conference.
- Marvin Nesbitt Jr. is the only player in the Summit to rank top-ten in rebounds, steals and blocks per game. He is in the top-five in all three categories, ranking second in steals, fourth in rebounds and fourth in blocks.
- Since the beginning of conference play, Evan Gilyard II has surpassed the 20-point mark seven times and the 30-point mark four times. He is averaging 20.8 points per game in conference play, bringing his season average from 11.9 to 16.8 points per game.
- In the Roos' recent win over North Dakota State, they knocked down 10-of-14 three-point attempts, good for a 71.4% shooting clip. That mark is the best by a Kansas City team since Jan. 13, 2005, when the Roos went 8-of-9 for 88.9% three-point shooting against Valparaiso.
- Between Gilyard, Nesbitt, Arkel Lamar and Josiah Allick, the Roos have four 12-point scorers that have played at least 12 games. The only other time in program history that the Roos have had that kind of scoring equity was in 2004-05, when Mike English, Carlton Aaron, Brandon Temple and Quinton Day all averaged over 13 points.
Last Time vs. USD
- Kansas City won their first Summit game of the year over South Dakota with a final of 68-57 in Vermillion, S.D.
- Evan Gilyard II had his second 30-plus-point performance of the year, dropping a new career high at the time with 31 points.
- Arkel Lamar saw 29 minutes off the bench in his second game since returning from injury, scoring 14 points and pulling down four rebounds.Â
- After allowing 50% shooting in the first half, the Roos held USD to just 41% shooting in the second frame.
- Kansas City forced South Dakota into 17 turnovers, creating 18 points off of giveaways. Every Coyote that entered the game committed at least one turnover.
Series History vs. USD
- The all-time series is tied at 6-6, with a 4-2 record on the road and a 2-4 record at home.
- Kansas City hasn't won a game at home since Nov. 30, 2017, at Municipal Auditorium with a two-point victory in the 84-82 decision.
- The last meeting was the Roos' largest margin of victory over the Coyotes since 2013.

- The Coyotes come into the final week with a 10-6 conference record, sitting fifth in the Summit standings, right below Kansas City.
- Kruz Perrott-Hunt averages a team-high 15.3 points and 2.3 assists per game.
- Mason Archambault follows with 14.8 points per game and the league's best 92.4 free throw percentage.
- Hunter Goodrick will compete with the Roos' rebounding advantage, averaging 7.3 rebounds per contest, good for third best in the Summit.
Last Time vs. SDSU
- Kansas City fell in an 89-57 decision in their conference opener to South Dakota State.
- Timothy Barnes led KC's scoring efforts from the bench, finishing with 11 points and two rebounds.
- The Kansas City bench scored 37 of the team's 57 total points on the night.
- Jack Chapman was the lone Roo to finish with a positive plus/minus, finishing plus-one in nine minutes of play.

- South Dakota State is a perfect 16-0 in Summit play and has locked in the number one seed in the tournament.
- Atop the conference in scoring with 86.6 points per game, the Jackrabbits also have the league's best field goal percentage and three-point efficiency.
- SDSU is led by Baylor Scheierman and Douglas Wilson who are averaging 15.5 points per game.
- Scheierman also leads the league in rebounding and assists, with 8.4 rebounds and 4.6 dimes per contest.
