Madison Page scored the equalizing goal in the 87th minute to earn a point for the home side
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer battled all the way to the final horn to earn their second conference result of the year, a 1-1 draw with North Dakota this afternoon. Madison Page scored the equalizer in the 87th minute, her fourth goal of the season.
KEY MOMENTS
- 5' / 0-0 | A free kick taken on the edge of the attacking third was chipped into the box by Sophia Limongi. The ball was deflected by a UND defender and out of bounds for a corner kick. The ensuing corner found the foot of Caijah Anderson, but her shot was blocked and cleared away by the UND defense.
- 12' / 0-0 | A defensive miscue left Mackenzie Caldwell as the last line of defense between UND's Lexi Miller and the goal, but Caldwell stepped up to block the shot away and promptly smothered it to quell the opportunity.
- 27' / 0-0 | The Fighting Hawks earned back-to-back corner chances. The first was punched away and out of bounds by Caldwell, the second was cleared by a Limongi header.
- 57' / 0-0 | The Roos earned back-to-back chances of the second half came as Lily Stedman made a run and attempted a cross that was blocked to the foot of Madison Page. Page took a shot, but it was just wide of the mark. The Roos regained possession once again, and Stedman centered the ball perfectly to Page. Page was unable to make clean contact, however, sending the ball high of the goal.
- 59' / 0-1 | North Dakota claimed the lead after a corner kick bounced around the box. The Roos were unable to clear, and a shot by UND's Mary Gasaway snuck through a crowded area and into the back of the net.
- 62' / 0-1 | Kansas City looked to equalize quickly after UND's goal as Sophia Smith found a lane to spark a counterattack. Smith played the ball to Anna Jennings, who took a touch and moved around the UND defense, leaving just the goalie between her and the net. Jennings played the ball past UND's keeper, but the ball glanced off the left post.
- 83' / 0-1 | North Dakota looked to add on to their lead with a run up the right side, but Smith came across the field and made a sliding stop to block the Fighting Hawks' shot out of bounds.
- 87' / 1-1 | The Roos earned the equalizer on an attack as Kayda Kamolz played a ball from the left side of the box across the goal. Ririka Kamimura laid off the ball and let it play to Page, who took a shot that was blocked off the foot of UND's keeper. Page kept with it and played the rebound off her right foot and into the goal.

- 87' / 1-1 | Kansas City had another opportunity right after scoring the goal as Kamimura drew a foul in the box and set up a penalty kick for Limongi. Limongi's attempt was saved by the Fighting Hawks' Madi Livingston, and would prove to be the last opportunity of the day for either side.
