Men's Soccer to Host Omaha in Conference Battle

The Roos and Mavericks will face off tomorrow evening at 7 p.m.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â After its final non-conference matchup of the season, a 1-1 draw with Central Arkansas, Kansas City sets its eyes on ending the regular season strong, beginning with a match against Omaha on Saturday.
Kansas City Notes
- With two matches remaining in league play, the Roos are tied for third in the standings with 11 conference points. Denver also has 11 points in one fewer game and Western Illinois is just two points behind, with nine.
- With 12 total points on the season, Christian Koffi ranks sixth in the league. He is tied for second in the Summit with an average of 1.0 points per game, ranking 113th in the nation.
- Koffi shoulders a large portion of the offensive load, and for good reason. His average of 4.33 shots per game ranks second in the nation, and his 2.08 shots on goal per game leads the nation.Â
- With an average of 3.85 saves per game, Cooper Clark is among the best in the nation, ranking 52nd.Â
- The Roos have nine different goal scorers this season, one more than last year and tied with the 2020 squad.
- In the matchup with Central Arkansas, Zach Nichols, Asier Olano and Adam Henry all made their first-ever collegiate starts. Olano played all 90 minutes, besting his previous career-high by 55 minutes.
- The Roos are one of the best in the country in earning corners, tallying 91 total on the season. The average of 7.0 per game is 9th in DI.
Omaha NotesÂ
- Omaha enters this weekend's matchup with a 7-5-1 record, winning a mid-week meeting with Lindenwood by a 5-0 tally. Five goals was the most the Mavericks have scored this season.
- In last year's meeting, Omaha prevailed 2-0, allowing Kansas City zero total shots on goal.
- Three Mavericks have tallied five goals on the season: Kenji Mboma Dem, Theo Klein and Mathis Pilon St-Louis.
- Mboma Dem has added six assists on the year and leads the Summit with 16 total points.
