KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Volleyball takes to North Dakota to open up Summit League play. The Roos will match up with North Dakota State on Thursday at 7 p.m. before a 1 p.m. meeting with North Dakota on Saturday.
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos enter Summit League play with a 9-3 record, the program's best non-conference record since the 2014 Roos went 12-4 in non-con play and went on to win the WAC Regular Season Championship.
- Alli Schomers continues to execute the Roos' passing game at a high level, averaging 10.35 assists per set, leading the Summit and ranking 50th in Division One. Her total of 497 total assists is the fifth-best in the nation.
- Maddie Renn is the Roos' defensive rock, averaging 4.69 digs per set. That mark ranks third in the Summit League and 53rd nationwide.
- As a team, Kansas City is one of the most dangerous serving teams in the Summit. The Roos' average of 1.73 aces per set is third in the conference and 66th in Division One.
- De'Janae Arnold has been reliable in the middle so far this season, swinging at a .429 clip. Her hitting percentage ranks 18th in the nation.
- Kansas City has avoided high-error games for most of the season, outhitting opponents by three percentage points. This is no new trend, as Coach Christi Posey's teams have hit above-.220 in five of the last seven seasons.
- The Roos enter the 2021 conference season after a second-place regular season finish in 2020, their first year since returning to the Summit. Last year, KC earned regular season sweeps over six conference foes.
