Tulsa, OK. Kansas City battles in loss to Oral Roberts in a high scoring match this Friday evening. The Roos executed an exciting goal in the 6^th minute of action that then would have the Eagles respond with four points of their own during the first half. Knocking away at the Eagles lead, the Roos earned their second goal in the 42^nd minute of the first half.

The Roos experienced another back and forth battle with the Eagles. Starting the match with an evident spark of speed and determination, the Roos kept the Eagles defense at work in the box. After a shot on goal went wide, the Roos would continue the attack earning the corner kick. Hayden Burnett sent the ball right into the scramble at the net that was sent back out by the Eagles. Quickly reacting to the ricochet, Hayden Burnett connected for a second chance opportunity placing the ball back into the zone for Rileigh Kuhns to score by her header. The Roos earned the goal in the 6^th minute pushing the pressure on the Eagles. After quality placements and long forward strides by the Eagles forwards, ORU would earn four points taking the lead.

As the Roos attempted to ignite offensive control, the Eagles kept Kansas City at bay until the 42^nd minute of the first half. With another assist by Hayden Burnett, the goal was solidified in the lower left by a tenacious Kylie Cushing to put the Roos at 2 goals scored.

Returning to the pitch for the second half of play, Kansas City adjusted to a powerful Eagles offense and stationed ORU from another scoring chance. After the second forty five minutes of regulation, the Roos were able to finish with a stronger defensive performance.

"We played well for the first fifteen minutes of the game, but just didn't match their intensity for the next seventy five. Going into the game on Sunday, we must play our game and have a stronger mentality to win the game," commented Head Coach Jessica Smith.
