Roos Extend Win Streak to Three in Sweep of WIU

The Roos are 2-0 in Summit League play to begin the conference season
Now on a three match win streak, Kansas City Tennis had tremendous success in its win over Western Illinois. With this victory, the Roos are now 2-0 in conference play.
Following the momentum of their tenacious triumph over South Dakota, the Roos began doubles action with dominating force against the Leathernecks.Yana Grechkina and Michela Xibilia along with Riddhi Sharma and Anastassiya Timofeyeva both accomplished a 6-2 set win giving the Roos the early lead in the match.
"Today was a great opportunity for our doubles to come out strong today and they did well," said Coach Hale.
The Roos continued the energy heading into singles and never looked back. All Roos won their singles matches today in stellar fashion. Senior Grace Ball made fantastic moves on the court and converted high lobs into forehand kills finishing her match 2 sets to none. Then Seniors Grechkina and Thanushree Vale would follow each concluding their singles matches 2-0. Â
Junior Riddhi Sharma battled long rallies splitting 1-1 and ended victorious on a fierce tiebreaker 10-6. Freshman Anastassiya Timofeyeva held control early and succeeded in a 2-0 win. The final singles match displayed Junior Michela Xibilia's focus and powerful play helping clinch the Roos second conference victory and third match win streak.
The Roos will now travel to Bradley for a brunch matinee Sunday, March 21st at 10 a.m.
