Women's Basketball Set to Finish Regular Season in Brookings

The Roos take on the Jackrabbits on Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m.
Five Things to Know
- Kansas City takes to the road for its final series of the regular season this weekend as they take on conference-leading South Dakota State. It will be the first time the Roos and Jackrabbits meet up since the 2012-13 season.
- Paige Bradford had her best weekend of the season against Denver. She averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in the split, including a career-high 22 points and four blocks in Saturday's win.
- Since missing the second game of the NDSU series due to injury, Naomie Alnatas has picked up right where she left off. Over the four-game stretch, she is averaging 16.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Alnatas is currently third in the Summit League in scoring average and fifth in steals per game.
- After coming off of the bench in the Roos' first 14 games, RaVon Nero has made the start in four of the past five. She has taken advantage of the starting role, scoring in double digits in all four games with a 20.5-point scoring average. She has also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game when she starts.
- Kansas City does best when it shares the ball. The Roos are second in the Summit League with a 14.26 assist per game average and hold a record of 8-2 when they log at least 15 assists.

- RaVon Nero exploded for 27 points and a career-high eight rebounds to lead Kansas City to a dominating win over Denver.
- Paige Bradford also crossed the 20-point barrier with 22, including 2-for-3 from the three-point line.
- Jada Mickens and Taylor Larson were honored after the game as seniors. Mickens scored eight points and added five rebounds. Larson also had five rebounds.
- Kansas City had 19 takeaways during the game, which it converted into 22 points.

- Kansas City's final shot with seconds remaining fell short as they lost to the conference-leading Jackrabbits.
- Elise O'Connor scored 26 points and added nine rebounds, almost a double-double, to do everything she could to give the Roos a chance to win.

- The Roos made 17 of 22 free throws, including a 10-for-12 performance by O'Connor.
All-Time Series vs. SDSU: SDSU leads, 13-1
- Kansas City's only win against the Jackrabbits came in their fifth meeting in 2010, winning 67-64 at home.
- The highest-scoring game between Kansas City and SDSU was an overtime game in the 2012 conference tournament that went to the Jackrabbits, 78-77.
- The longest winning streak in the series belongs to the Jackrabbits at eight-straight wins.

- South Dakota State comes in ranked #22 in the country and first in The Summit League with a 19-2 record (12-0 in conference play).
- Leading the way for the Jackrabbits is Myah Selland. She is averaging 19.2 points per game, which not only leads the team but also The Summit League in scoring. Selland is also fifth in rebounds with 6.8 per game.
- Tylee Irwin and Paiton Burckhard also average double-digit points per game with 13.0 and 12.2 respectively.
- The Jackrabbits are second in The Summit League in scoring, scoring defense, field goal percentage, field goal percentage allowed, and free throw percentage allowed. They are first in three-point field goal defense and third in rebounds and rebounds allowed.
