KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A sluggish start hurt Kansas City Women's Soccer this afternoon against South Dakota, as a fourth-minute goal by the Coyotes proved to be the only difference between the sides. Kassi Ginther was the Roos' biggest offensive threat, attempting four shots on the day.

- The Roos placed three of their five shots on goal. Â
- Smith and Limongi both played all 90 minutes for the Roos. Â
- The Roo defense held South Dakota to just four shots on goal. Â

COACH JESS SMITH, QUOTED
- "I'm disappointed in our intensity and execution today. I think we organized the team in the second half to give us a chance to equalize, but our intensity just wasn't good enough. We have to learn from this that every minute of every game matters, and we have to come out ready to get a result."
- "Kassi and Emma are getting themselves in positions to create chances. Meg White came in and was dangerous as well. We just have to continue going at them and hopefully execute on one of our chances."
