KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Recently, Kansas City Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin became co-chair of the newly formed Black Athletic Director's (AD) Alliance. On Wednesday, he explained his role and the importance of the Alliance with The KC Star Editorial Board members Toriano Porter and Dave Helling.

The Black AD Alliance was inspired by the importance of promoting more opportunities for Blacks at administrative levels within Division I Athletic departments. Through the leadership of accomplished Black athletics administrators nationally, the purpose of the Black AD Alliance is to create growth, development and elevation opportunities for Black athletic administrators.
The Black AD Alliance includes 16 Black Athletic Directors in Division I spearheaded by co-chairmen Dr. Martin and Auburn Athletics Director Allen Greene.
