MJ Foster enters the cross country history books with a 24:00.7 8k time placing him second in UMKC history
Peoria, IL - HIstory was made today in Peoria when junior Mj Foster entered the record books for the 8k running a 24:00.7 in the Bradley Pink Classic.
Â
Foster's time of 24:00.7 marked not only a second place placement on the all time leader boards but also 40+ second personal best for the junior. His time today puts him right above Cosmas Ayabei who in 2011 had a finish of 24:04.0 and right below the current record of 23:46.2 by Bryce Miller (2017) who has held the title for nine years. Currently a junior Foster will have multiple opportunities to snatch the number one spot.
Foster will look to continue to bring this momentum into the Summit League Cross Country Championships coming up on October 31st. Foster's mark today puts him in the list for top ten 8k times in the Summit League, setting him at 8th. The Roos won't compete until the Summit League Championship giving foster time to prepare and rest before the championship meet.Â
