Kansas City AD Martin and Auburn AD Greene to Serve as Co-Chairman
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The creation of the Black AD Alliance was announced today. It was inspired by the importance of promoting more opportunities for Blacks at administrative levels within Division I Athletic departments. Through the leadership of accomplished Black athletics administrators nationally, the Black AD Alliance primarily aim is to create growth, development and elevation opportunities for Black athletic administrators.
"There is an acknowledgment that things need to improve in terms of opportunities for Black athletic administrators," Martin said. "There needs to be a more fortified partnership with the NCAA senior leadership, NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors), Conference Commissioners, and College Presidents and Chancellors to engender the meaningful change that's needed.
The Black AD Alliance looks to create and develop supportive networks and ways of valuable collaboration amongst professionals in the athletics administrative field.
"Members of the Black AD Alliance have a shared responsibility to leave a lasting impact on an industry to which we have dedicated our lives," Greene said.
