The Roos had little trouble shaking the rust off after a 10-day break between games, converting on each of their first three trips down the court. Emily Ivory opened the scoring with a three from the top of the key, giving Kansas City control from the jump. Ivory finished with three makes from behind the arc, giving her 13 points.
"Our kids have been itching to get back into a game rhythm and I thought that was evident today in how they came out focused and ready to execute," Head Coach Jacie Hoyt said.

Kansas City took the game by the throat in the second quarter, holding Chicago State to just one field goal. The Roos closed the half on an 8-0 stretch, taking a 41-17 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Roos turned up the pressure defensively. After forcing seven turnovers in the first 20 minutes, Kansas City forced the Cougars into 14 second half giveaways. Every Chicago State player that saw the floor was forced into at least one turnover.
The Roos broke the 80-point mark just twice in the first 26 games of the season, but have reached that mark in each of their last two games, thanks in part to a combined 61-of-129 (47.2%) field goal shooting. Today, the Roos connected on 48.5% of their shots, including a season-high-tying 11 three-point makes.
"Our scoring has been very balanced the last few games," Hoyt said. "I think we are hitting our stride and gelling really well right now as a collective team on both ends of the floor."
Naomie Alnatas continued her hot play following a season-high 17-point performance against California Baptist. She made five of her seven attempts from the field for 14 points, adding three steals.
