Record Watch
Last Time Out
- For the second-straight weekend, the Kansas City Women's Soccer team hosts a pair of non-conference opponents, beginning with Eastern Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Western Illinois on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern Illinois is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference while Western Illinois belongs to the Summit League, the same affiliation the Roos will be a member of starting in 2020-21.
- Eastern Illinois comes into Friday's match with an 0-1-0 record after losing 6-0 to Ball State on Aug. 23. The Panthers return eight starters from a team a season ago to post the most wins since 2013 (6-8-6). The Roos are 3-0-0 in the all-time series, owning a 6-1 scoring advantage.
- With a season-opening win against Missouri State on Aug. 23, Western Illinois is 1-0-0 coming into the weekend. The Leathernecks face IUPUI on Friday prior to Kansas City on Sunday. In the all-time series, Kansas City claims a 5-3-0 mark and is riding a four-game win streak with four-straight shutouts.
- The Roos have started the year with a 2-0-0 record, for just the third time in the 11-year history of soccer and first time since 2015.
- Both victories last weekend came via the shutout. The two-straight blankings to begin the year marks the first time in program history that has occurred.
- Junior Liz Mann, a defensive-holding midfielder, earned Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors on Aug. 26. She was part of a defensive unit limiting the pair of Missouri Valley Conference programs to nine combined shots on goal. Offensively, she posted a goal - heading in a corner kick - to give the Roos a 2-0 lead against Illinois State.
