Kansas City at Houston Baptist Notes
Win 'N You're In
- This game against Houston Baptist is the season finale for the Roos. Postseason hopes come down to this game, as the winner will move on to the WAC Tournament and the loser's season will come to an end. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT in Houston, Texas at Sorrels Field.Â
- KC currently sits in 6th place with 14 points in the WAC, while HBU sits behind them in 9th with 12 points. A win OR a tie would clinch a spot in the WAC tournament for KC for the first time since 2014. A win for HBU would knock KC out of the tournament and secure a spot for themselves.
Roos By The Numbers
- In all 14 games played thus far, Kansas City has only outshot its opponents in one game. The squad plays a deep back line and finds it opportunities on the counter.
- Junior transfer Ryan Khedoo leads the team in goals this season with four. He has been a major addition to the attacking front of the Roos.
Errico In The History Books
- Roos GK Filippo Errico has a WAC second-best 72 saves this year and ranks third all-time in Roos history with 278 saves. He needs 11 saves to move into second all-time.Â
- He is also 10 minutes shy of moving into second all-time in minutes played for Roos GK's in history.Â
Series History
- HBU currently holds a 4-2-1 advantage all-time against Kansas City. The teams first met on Oct. 5, 2013.
- The most recent meeting was on Nov 3, 2018 in Kansas City, Mo., a 4-3 win for the Roos on senior day.Â
- Last time out was an offensive battle, as they combined for 7 goals. Roos current MF David Ray-Campoy scored the final goal that became the game-winner.
Scouting Houston Baptist
- The Huskies are coming off of a 2-0 loss vs. CSU-Bakersfield.Â
- They have a 3-4 home record this season at Sorrels Field.
Senior forward Dominick Faletto is the Huskies leading goal scorer with six goals on the season.
The Huskies lead the WAC in goals allowed this season and average a league-worst 2.78 goals allowed per game average. Look for another offensive battle in Houston.Â
