Preview: Men's Soccer Looks To Keep the Streak Alive on Road Trip

Weekend Notes

The Kansas City Men's Soccer team will face off with conference opponents UNLV and GCU over the weekend. The Roos are looking to extend its three-game win streak and find its first win on the road this season. Kickoff at UNLV is set for Friday at 7 p.m. CT in Las Vegas, Nv. From there, the Roos will head south for a matchup with GCU. The teams will square off in Phoenix, Ariz. at 9 p.m. CT.

Roos By the Numbers

The Roos are on a roll in conference play, having won three straight at home to even up its conference record at 3-3.
Because of the success last week, the Roos have moved up six spots in the Western Athletic Conference from last to the middle of the pack in 6th place. The Roos are just one point behind the fourth and fifth place teams.
While solid at home this season (4-1-0 overall, 3-0-0 WAC), Kansas City has struggled on the road (0-6 overall, 0-3 WAC). The Roos will look to pick up its first road win in Las Vegas.
F Ryan Khedoo is currently on a three game goal streak and leads the team in goals (3).
The offense has been clicking of late, scoring two goals in each of its last three games. This season, the Roos are 4-0 when scoring more than one goal.

GCU GK George Tasouris was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week. He earned his sixth shutout of the season, making three saves in a double-overtime draw at UT Rio Grande Valley.
The defense for the Lopes has been solid this season, allowing just five goals in its six conference games played so far. However, the offense has been a struggle, as they have scored just four goals in those six conference games. That ranks them second worst in the conference in front of Incarnate Word (3) in goals scored.
