
Roos Down Cougars in WAC Play

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men's tennis team (6-8, 1-0) picked up a WAC win on Thursday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center with a 4-1 win over Chicago State.
In doubles play, the Roos No. 76 ranked duo of Airam Castellano and Alex Pozo took down Felix Savard and Christian Gonzalez, 6-2, while at No. 2, Tom Kruse and Diego Giraldo clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win over Rohan Wattley and George Botha.
In singles action, Castellano took care of Savard at No. 1, 6-4, 6-0 and at No. 2, Pozo dismissed Wattley, 6-3, 6-1. UMKC's fourth point came at No. 3, where Kruse beat Botha, 6-4, 6-1.
The Cougars, meanwhile, registered their lone point when Gonzalez beat Giraldo, 7-5, 4-6, 12-10 at No. 4.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again tomorrow when they face Seattle U at 1 p.m. CT at the Plaza Tennis Center.
