
UMKC Track and Field Set to Compete at Gorilla Classic

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The UMKC track and field teams head to the Gorilla Classic this weekend as they compete in their final regular season meet of the indoor season.
The meet will begin on Friday at 2 p.m. with the men's weight throw, men's and women's long jump and men's pole vault. Saturday's events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 3,000M.
Six different Roos currently lead the conference in their respective events, including Justin Martin in the men's 200M, Bryce Miller (Ashland, Wis.) in the men's mile, Sarah Fogarty (O'Fallon, Mo.) in the women's 3,000M, Richard Smith (Kansas City, Mo.) in the men's triple jump, Alex Gutierrez (Glendale, Ariz.) in the men's high jump and Remy Abrought (Kansas City, Mo.) in the women's 60H.
The Roos will be back in action at the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Nampa, Idaho, on Feb. 23-25.
