
Two 2016 Recruits Win High School State Championships

Kansas City, Mo. - Two incoming freshmen for the UMKC softball team picked up state championships in their final year of high school play to cap illustrious careers before officially becoming Kangaroos.
Picking up the first state softball championship since 2004 for Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Kansas, Dani Townley helped lead her team to the title by scoring the winning-run in the championship tilt against Piper High School.
Townley drove in a run in the 10th inning of the game with a double, to help lift Spring Hill to the 4A Division I Kansas title, as they went on to win the game 1-0.
In the Lonestar State, another incoming 'Roo helped her high school pick up a state title, as Mikayla McClasky drove in a run for Keller High School in a 5-0 victory.
