Kangaroos Advance To WAC Championship Finals With Win Over Redhawks

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Top-seeded UMKC men's tennis (17-7) advanced to the 2016 WAC Men's Tennis Championship final against No. 2 seed New Mexico State after knocking-off No. 4 Seattle, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in semifinal action in Brownsville, Texas.
The 'Roos quickly went up 1-0 after the No. 2 doubles team of Amaury Navette and Uldis Gaismins and the No. 3 team of Andrey Smirnov and Vinh Pham each picked up a 6-1 victory.
Airam Castellano then made it 2-0 after he led-off singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1, while Navette made it 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6.
Mike Psarros then clinched the match for the 'Roos when he won his match at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2.
The 'Roos and the Aggies will battle for a berth in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon starting at 1 p.m. CT.
