Roos Take 6-1 Victory Over Washburn Saturday

(Kansas City, Mo.) - UMKC men's tennis jumped out early, and rolled to a 6-1 victory over Division II Washburn on Saturday afternoon at KC Raquet Club.
UMKC (4-4) took 6-3 victories in all three doubles matches, taking the doubles point heading into singles action.
The Roos extended the lead with wins at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 in straight sets, but WU tallied a victory at No. 2, making it 4-1 in favor of the Roos. At No. 3, Andrey Smirnov took a straight set win, but he had to earn it with tight tiebreakers in both sets. Airam Castellano closed out the match with a third-set tiebreaker victory at the No. 1 spot to seal the win.
UMKC will head to California next weekend for a pair of matches.
