Frerichs Finishes 7th at USATF Championships in Steeplechase

(Eugene, Ore.) – UMKC's Courtney Frerichs finished seventh in the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2015 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships Saturday with a time of 9:46.24. She needed to finish in the top three to get a spot on team USA.

The Nixa, Mo. product now has the fifth-fastest time this year among Americans, and entered the week with the No. 6 seed time (9:31.36) among all steeple runners.

The champion was former Colorado runner Emma Coburn, who ran a 9:15.59, while Stephanie Garcia was second and 2015 NCAA Champion Colleen Quigley took third to make the team in 9:24.92.
