Lamar Edges Kangaroos 4-3 in Men's Tennis Action Tuesday

(Wichita, Kan.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad dropped a nailbiter on Tuesday against Lamar, falling 4-3 in a match played in Wichita, Kan.
UMKC (3-11) stole the doubles point with an 8-6 win at No. 1 by Mike Psarros and Tomas Patino, followed by a tight 8-7 victory at No. 3 from Andrey Smirnov and Uldis Gaismins.
The Cardinals (9-5) took control in the singles matches though, taking straight-set wins at the top three spots in the lineup, as well as a win at the No. 6 spot. The 'Roos pulled out victories in the No. 4 and 5 positions though, as Vinh Pham and Gaismins picked up wins.
UMKC will face Wichita State on Thursday, before battling Air Force on Friday, both in Wichita.
