'Roos Suffer First Summit League Loss, Falls 4-0 to Fort Wayne

(Kansas City, Mo) - The Kansas City women's tennis team (5-11, 2-1 SL) wrapped up the weekend with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Fort Wayne Mastodons (15-7, 4-0 SL).
In doubles action, the Kangaroos could not come way a win as Fort Wayne won 8-4, 8-1 and 8-6.
Meanwhile, in singles competition, Fort Wayne's Anita Henestrosa defeated senior Laura Bouet (6-0, 6-0), Kristine Lindal took down Kansas City's Dimitra Stavrianakou (2-6, 6-3, 6-0) and Fort Wayne's Miloslava Shustova beat sophomore Maddie Schulte (6-3, 6-3).
As for the other three singles matches, it did not finish as UMKC's Eva Dalvai led Caterina Kiefer (4-2), senior Suzan Lisenby tied with Theresa Neumeyr (1-1) and Kansas City's Amelie Amsallem was up on Fort Wayne's Marcy Huck (7-6, 2-5).
Coming up, the Blue & Gold will be in action this Tuesday at home against Iowa State.
