Cathrine Chrobak earned wins in both her singles match and doubles with Amal Gati

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Kansas City Women's Tennis picked up its first win of the spring season, taking down Missouri State 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. It was a tight battle but Kansas City started off with a point in doubles competition, stealing two out of three matches from the Bears. Cathrine Chrobak and Amal Gati took down Missouri State 6-4 in the second doubles match while Sophie Marshman and Alisa Reznik took the third and final doubles match to finalize solidify the Roos match-opening point.

In singles competition, Kansas City won matches three, four and six. Chrobak took the 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 3 position while Marshman defeated the Bears 6-3, 6-3 and got the Roos one point closer to victory. Luciana Braga finished Missouri State off, taking her match 6-1, 6-1 from the No. 4 position and getting the deciding point for the Roos in Springfield. Kansas will take the momentum into next weekend where the Roos face off with Northern Illinois on the road next Saturday.
