Kangaroos Win In 5 Over Leathernecks

City, Mo.) - The Kansas City volleyball team moved to 1-1 in The Summit
League after a five-set win over the Western Illinois Leathernecks in Macomb,
Ill.
UMKC grabbed an early lead, after a freshman Emma Hagedorn ended the first two sets with a kill, giving UMKC a 2-0 advantage.
The Leathernecks, though, would even the match with wins in set three and four to force a deciding fifth set.
In set five, UMKC built a 4-1 lead on a kill from senior Emily Lucas, before the senior ended the match with two kills over the final five sets for the win.
The Blue & Gold will back in action again on Sep. 21 when they face Oakland in the home opener.
