
'Roos Take Home Five Titles at ESU Midweek Open

Momo opened the day for the 'Roos by winning the 100 meter Dash with a time of 12.20, while Cooper finished second in the event after posting a personal best 12.16 in the preliminaries.
Later in the day, Cooper took home the title in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.75 meters (18-10.37), the fifth furthest mark in school history, while sophomore Chelsea Richardson placed sixth in the event with a distance of 5.11 meters (16-9.18).
Cooper and Momo then claimed their second titles of the day when they teamed with Richardson and fellow sophomore Shanelle Williams to win the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 47.54.
The 'Roos fourth women's title of the day came in the Triple Jump, where sophomore Jordan Bain won with a mark of 10.70 meters (35-1.25).
Williams and sophomore Veronica Rollins, meanwhile, each added a second place finish and a personal best to their resumes, with Williams posting the third fastest time in school history in the 100 meter Hurdles with a time of 14.47 and Rollins finishing with a time of 2:19.03 in the 800 meter Run.
On the men's side, senior Dontay Taylor claimed the final title of the day for UMKC, with a mark of 7.44 meters (24-4.91) in the Long Jump, while fellow senior Charles Hinton placed seventh with a distance of 6.31 meters (20-8.42).
Junior Ramon Nelson (53.01 meters) and sophomore Kris Leverette (51.57), meanwhile, added a third and fourth place finish, respectively, in the Hammer Throw, while freshman Xavier Kenney placed sixth in the 400 meter Hurdles with a time of 1:00.10.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action this weekend in Wichita, Kan., at the Track-It Buster Invitational presented by Holiday Inn.
