
Brueggemann Breaks School Record At Baker Last Chance Meet

Baldwin City, Kan. -- The UMKC track and field team sent two throwers to the Baker Last Chance meet on May 7, where the duo of student-athletes broke a school record, had three first place finishes and recorded three personal records. Susan Brueggemann threw 42-1.25 (12.83m) in the women's shot put for a new personal record and the UMKC school record.
Ramon Nelson competed in the men's discus and hammer for the Kangaroos and in addition to two first place finishes, the freshman had two personal best marks. Nelson threw 161-05 (49.20m) in the discus and now ranks second in school history in the event. The freshman also finished first in the hammer with a personal best throw of 169-08 (51.71m).
The `Roos will head to Toledo, Ohio, to compete in The Summit League Outdoor Championships May 13-15.
