UMKC Falls To Oral Roberts In Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. -- The UMKC volleyball (9-19, 6-10) team dropped its match with Oral Roberts (12-12, 10-6) on Sunday afternoon, 3-1, at the Aerobics Center. Offensively, junior Kelsey Knoche finished with a team-high 11 kills, while Kayla Riggs led the 'Roos defensive efforts with 17 digs.
The 'Roos took the early lead in the match with a 25-21 first set win behind a four-kill effort from Knoche. Senior Holly Schmidt added six assists in the set.
The Golden Eagles however, would respond with three straight wins, taking the second set 25-18, the third set 25-14 and the fourth set 25-20.
In the match, Knoche, Elizabeth Beck, Christiana McQuin and Demetria Williams all recorded three blocks, while Schmidt finished with 15 assists and Ella Meier 13.
UMKC will be back in action again on Thursday when they host IPFW at 7 p.m. at the SRC.
