
Kangaroos Host IUPUI For Thursday Night Summit League Match

Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's soccer team continues Summit League play at home this weekend with a pair of games against IUPUI and Western Illinois. The Kangaroos will host IUPUI on Thur., Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field and then face Western Illinois on Sat., Oct. 10 at 1 p.m.
UMKC is currently 0-11-1 on the season and 0-2 in league play and is in search of the program's first win. For the `Roos, Zaina Mayer (3), Alyssa D'Egidio (1), Alyson Russell (1) and Meagan Shipley (1) have all scored goals this season.
Kangaroos In The Summit League
Jami Finnell is on top The Summit League standings in saves. The freshman goalkeeper has recorded 100 saves headed into the home stance against IUPUI. Finnell notched her 100th save in the 2-0 lost at IPFW this past weekend.
Hungry for First Win
The UMKC women's soccer team may be 0-11-1 in its inaugural season but aren't down and out just yet. The Kangaroos continue Summit League play this weekend at home with IUPUI and Western Illinois. Despite their difficult non-conference schedule, the `Roos have been in almost every game, only dropping games by one or two goals to established programs.

The UMKC women's soccer team wrapped up the weekend on the road with IPFW today. The Kangaroos dropped a 2-0 decision to the Mastodons and fall to 0-11-1 on the season and 0-2 in The Summit League. The `Roos welcomed back Randi Simmons this weekend who led the offense with five shots.
The game was evenly matched during the first half with both teams having opportunities at the goal. IPFW capitalized on one such chance in the 37th minute when Arianne Mason found the back of the net to give her team a 1-0 boost.
UMKC almost tied things up in the second half but a Simmons goal was called back due to offsides. Tara O'Toole sealed the win for the Mastodons in the 85th minute and scored off of a Brittany Climmons assist.
The `Roos also had some good looks thanks to Ariel Rank and Meagan Shipley, with both recording two shots on frame.
