Samuel Mitchell joined the UMKC sports performance department in July of 2013. He designs and implements the strength and conditioning programs for both the men’s and women’s tennis teams as well as the men’s and women’s golf teams. In addition Samuel assists with the development and maintenance of the athletics strength and conditioning center.
Mitchell was a scholarship basketball player for the University of Tulsa from 2005-09. He competed in all 134 contests during this time, averaging 15 minutes a contest for his career. His career high of 15 points came against UTEP. During his senior season Tulsa made the National Invitational Tournament winning their first contest against Northwestern before losing in the second round to Auburn.
Mitchell graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Management Information Systems.
Samuel has is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In addition he is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise.
