Ryan McDannold was named the Development Specialist for UMKC in the fall of 2012. He previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Operations and Development at Columbia College for three years.
After high Sshool he served as a US Navy Corpsman, (Combat Medic) for five years, spending most of his service time attached to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. During his service in the Navy, Ryan was awarded three Naval Letters of Recommendation, two Naval Letters of Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Upon honorable separation from the military he made his way to the University of Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2005. McDannold then went on to earn his Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sport Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2008.
Prior to McDannold's hiring at UMKC, he worked Marketing Partnerships at Dolphin Stadium for the Miami Dolphins and served as Athletic-Academic Counselor for Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. Following his time there, he moved back to Missouri to work at Columbia College.
McDannold, a native of Mexico, Mo., graduated from Mexico High School in 1997 where he was captain of his wrestling team and an all-state wrestler. He and his wife Keely currently reside in Kansas City, Mo.
