Onabanjo joins the Roos 2025 coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant who will be heavily involved with assisting the head and assistant coaches in planning and conducting practices and drills, giving feedback to athletes during games and practices, participating in scouting opponents and preparing game plans.Â
"I chose to work for Kansas City as a graduate assistant because I wanted to be a part of a program that values both athletic excellence and academic growth," Onabanjo said. "Kansas City provides an environment where I can contribute to the development of competitive, confident student-athletes while continuing my own education and growth as a coach."Â
Most recently, Onabanjo played at the professional level for the Omaha Supernovas after being drafted eighth overall in the 2024 PVF Draft. In the 2025 season, Onabanjo totaled 42 points, 33 kills, 73 total attacks and seven blocks in 21 sets played as a middle blocker for the Supernovas.Â
Prior to her time professionally, Onabanjo played college volleyball at Kansas from 2023-24 and Iowa from 2021-22. Onabanjo took home numerous awards in her time with the Jayhawks. Most notably, in 2024 she was a AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, All-Big 12 First Team Selection and an All-Region Selection. In 58 career matches played with Kansas, Onabanjo posted 451 kills, 938 total attacks, a .340 hitting percentage and 234 blocks defensively.Â
With the Hawkeyes, Onabanjo recorded 209 kills, 584 total attacks and 61 blocks in 42 matches played. Before college, the Houston, Tex. native attended St. Agnes High School and graduated in 2021. Onabanjo is also a current assistant volleyball coach at Spring Hill High School.Â
