Shana Easley is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach, as she joined the program in August 2008. Easley, who works primarily with the catchers and infielders, joined the Kangaroos from the University of Arkansas, where she served as the Director of Softball Operations.
In 2011, Easley helped lead the 'Roos to a school record 38 overall wins
and 18 Summit League wins. Under her guidance, five 'Roos were named
all-League Performers, including Kaelene Curry and Deana Friese who were
honored as Summit League Player of the Year and Summit League Pitcher
of the Year, respectively. Curry and Friese, meanwhile, were also named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I all-Central Region Second Team, while Curry was selected as as a Capital One Second Team Academic All-American.
Easley, a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Razorbacks, started 213 of the 217 games in which she played. She was charged with just 21 errors, with her fielding percentage of .985 ranking second all-time for the Lady 'Backs. She also holds the Arkansas record for most putouts in a game.
At the plate, Easley finished second on the team in RBI in both 2005 and 2006. During her senior season, she finished first on the team in home runs and total bases and second in doubles. She also ranks at the top of the record book for most home runs in a single season and a career.
After graduation, Easley played one season for the Arizona Heat of the National Pro Fastpitch League, posting a .250 batting average and a slugging percentage of .346. She recorded four doubles and a home run on the campaign. Additionally, Easley played one season for Dream Team Reggio Emilia in Italy, leading the squad to a championship, as the team posted a 14-0 record on the 2008 season.
The Loveland, Colo., native earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas. She earned her bachelor of science in marketing in May 2006 and received a master's in sport management in May 2008.
