High School/Club: Played at Olathe Northwest … Played club for Kansas City Scott Gallagher and Coach Dan Naidu … Scored most goals on club team in each of the last four years … Was named MVP by coaches
Personal: Born May 16, 2005 in Columbia, Mo. … Mother Sue Prehm … Mother, Sue swam at Linfield and OSU … Has one sibling, Wyatt … Favorite movie is Home Alone … Favorite musical artist is Drake … Would like to live in Hawaii … Intends to major in Health Sciences
Why Kansas City: "I chose Kansas City because I was looking to stay close to home and play for a Division One program at a school with the majors I was interested in. Once I visited, I thought the coaching staff was amazing and a good fit for me."
Coach Smith on Prehm: "Maya is a phenomenal athlete that can be dangerous for us in several positions. When she runs at opponents from the midfield, Maya is hard to stop because of her pace and ability to find open space to attack. She can play make and also has the skill to score from range, which makes her very dangerous. When she is isolated in wider space, she can get in behind on her own or drive crosses into the box. Her transition speed will help us when we lose the ball so that we can press to win it back. Maya is joining us in January and we can't wait to get her acclimated with the team."
