Before UMKC -- Played his freshman season at Drury before transferring to UMKC in 2015... In high school he played at Mill Valley, where he started all four years... He was injured five games into his senior season after averaging 18 points and five assists as the team captain... As a junior he was all-conference, all-district and all-state after putting up 15 points, 4 assists, and 2.6 steals a game and leading the team to a 5A State semifinal appearance and third place finish, as well as a conference title... His sophomore season he averaged 11 points, 3 assists and 2 steals per contest, earning first-team all-district and all-conference honors... As a freshman he started and was honorable mention all-conference and all-district... He set the school record for free throw percentage at 88%, and threes in a quarter with seven... Voorhes also played golf in high school, and was a four-year honor student... He played AAU for YOBO and head coach Victor Williams.
Personal -- Born May 11, 1995 in Overland Park, Kan... Son of Mike and Kathy Voorhes... Has one sister, Morgan... Morgan played volleyball at UMKC for three seasons from 2012-14... Majoring in engineering.
