Lauren Parker and Delilah Robles will lead the Roos as they look to exceed preseason expectations
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City Softball was picked to finish seventh in the Summit League Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office ahead of the 2026 campaign. The Roos earned their spot in the poll following a vote by the league's head coaches. Kansas City also landed two Players to Watch, with Delilah Robles selected as Pitcher to Watch and Lauren Parker named a Player to Watch.
Robles enters her first season with the Roos after an impressive 2025 campaign at Grayson, where she was named an NFCA Second Team All-American and NJCAA Third Team All-American. She appeared in 35 games with 31 starts, compiling a 23-5 record and a 1.33 ERA. Robles struck out 115 batters while issuing just 28 walks and recorded seven complete games. She earned wins against multiple nationally-ranked opponents and produced several dominant outings throughout the season. Robles also brings Division I experience after appearing in six games during the 2024 season at Stephen F. Austin.
Parker returns for her junior season after starting 33 games and appearing in 42 contests last year. She finished the season batting .250 and led the team with 13 runs scored while posting a .982 fielding percentage. Parker delivered multiple multi-hit performances and closed the season strong with a two-hit, two-RBI outing in the Summit League Tournament. As a sophomore in 2024, Parker earned Second Team All-Summit League honors while batting .300 and ranking among the league leaders in sacrifice bunts. She has appeared in 120 career games for the Roos and has been a steady presence defensively and at the top of the lineup.
Kansas City opens the 2026 season later this month as it looks to exceed preseason expectations and compete for a spot in the Summit League postseason.
