Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Women's Soccer returns to Durwood Soccer Stadium on Thursday evening for a battle with Marquette. The Roos saw their three-game winning streak snapped in a 3-2 loss at Tulsa and look to return to winning ways against the Golden Eagles.
- The Roos have scored multiple goals in three-straight games, the second time in the Jess Smith era that KC has gone for two-plus goals in three-straight contests. The most first occurrence was from Aug. 22-29 of last season, before that it had not happened since Aug. 25 through Sep. 1 of 2019.
- Delfina Zolesio was named Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week on Tuesday, becoming the first Roo to win a weekly award this season. She currently sits atop the Summit and is sixth in the nation with six total goals on the year.
- Ashley Koch scored at the 1:02 mark of the Roos game against Tulsa, her fourth-straight game with a goal. It was the earliest in a game that Kansas City has found the back of the net since at least the 2018 season.
- Riley Porter logged her first playing time of the season against the Golden Hurricane and was an immediate difference maker, assisting on Zolesio's 45th minute goal. Porter was on the field for 15 minutes total on the game.
Marquette Notes
- Marquette enters Thursday's game with a 4-2 record, including a 3-1 mark on the road. the Golden Eagles are coming off a 4-1 win over St. Thomas on Sunday.
- With three goals on the year, Jocelyn Leigh is Marquette's leading point scorer. She enters Thursday having scored in three games straight.
- As a team, Marquette ranks fourth in the Big East and 65th in the nation with a 2.17 goals per game average.
- This will be the second meeting in program history and the second year in-a-row that these teams have met.
- The two sides played to a draw last year with Ashley Koch scoring the Roos' lone goal in the 41st minute.
