Kansas City Men's Soccer will open the season with back-to-back games against ranked opponents
KANSAS CITY - For the first time in program history, Kansas City Men's Soccer will enter the season with a number next to its name. The Roos were recently announced as the preseason No. 18 ranked team in the nation, according to United Soccer Coaches.
"Being recognized in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll is a reflection of the hard work our players and staff have put in over the past year," Head Coach Ryan Pore said. "While it's encouraging to see that others are taking notice of our progress, our focus remains on the daily commitment it takes to compete for championships."
The Roos are coming off of the best season in program history, one that saw the team win the Summit League Championship and qualify for the NCAA Round of 16. Following the conclusion of last season, KC was also ranked 18th in the United Soccer Coaches poll, adding No. 13 rankings with TopDrawerSoccer and the NCAA RPI.
Kansas City returns nine of its 11 starters from the NCAA Round of 16 game, including reigning Summit League Offensive Player of the Year Elie Kisoka. In addition, the Roos are adding 15 new faces to the mix.
The Roos are scheduled to play five games against other teams ranked in the preseason poll, including back-to-back games to open the year. Following a season-opening match at No. 5 Southern Methodist on Aug. 21, KC kicks off its home schedule by hosting No. 24 Missouri State on Aug. 25.
Single-game and season tickets to watch the nationally-ranked Roos are available now. Season tickets start at just $50 and single-game tickets begin at $10. With new and exciting ways to watch the Roos in 2025, you won't want to miss a second of the action.
