
Men's Soccer Introduces Full 2025 Signing Class

The Roos will integrate 15 student-athletes into an already powerful roster
KANSAS CITYÂ - Kansas City Men's Soccer will welcome a host of new Roos for the upcoming 2025 season, as was announced today. Kansas City has signed 15 incoming student-athletes, adding to a rock-solid roster that returns nine of its 11 starters from the NCAA Round of 16 game last season.
"We're excited to officially welcome our 2025 recruiting class to Kansas City. This group brings a strong mix of experienced players and promising young talent," Head Coach Ryan Pore said. "We believe they'll make an immediate impact while also building a strong foundation for the future of our program."
Joackim Betina comes to Kansas City as a grad transfer from Florida International, where he was a member of the Panthers' 2023 NCAA Tournament team. The right back from Péronne, France made 34 appearances during his time at FIU, making 28 starts.
Mariano Beunza is a striker out of Pamplona, Spain, playing for Villarreal CF and CA Osasuna.
Edin Clark is a striker from St. Louis, Mo., having spent time with St. Louis City 2, the second professional team of St. Louis City, as well as Sporting KC Academy.
Emmanuele Garofalo comes to KC by way of Palermo, Italy, spending time with Palermo FC, ASD Gioiese and ASD Canicattì. The midfielder won a Primavera 3 Cup in 2023 during his time with Palermo.
Saul Guzman is an incoming freshman from Dallas, Tex. and is a center back from the FC Dallas pipeline.
Nils Hoffmann is a center back from Haste, Germany, spending time with Hannover 96 and VFL Wolfsburg.
Shotaro Kodama hails from Tokyo, Japan. He comes to Kansas City after playing for Kawasaki Frontale, where he was invited to preseason training with the first team.
Wade Muttitt transfers to the Roos via St. Mary's College, ready to spend his final year of collegiate soccer in KC. The striker from Crowthorne, England is a three-time All-WCC honoree, scoring 13 goals across his three years with the Gaels.
Kevin Nkumu Iyeli Bonyangi is a defender that hails from Kinshasa, DRC and played for Amiens Sporting Club.
Timothy Ospina is a transfer from Incarnate Word, playing the last three years with the Cardinals. He was a captain for UIW last season, starting 41 games and scoring 13 total points across his three seasons. Originally from Frisco, Tex., he also joins the Roos after playing for FC Dallas.
Bryce Outman is the Roos' fourth FC Dallas product to sign to the class of 2025, bolstering KC's midfield as a former USYNT international.
Marc Popow gives the Roos strength at the goalkeeping position. The Polish keeper comes from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard's, where he posted eight clean sheets in 27 games played in the National 3 league and aided the team to a 2023-24 runner-up finish. He has also spent time with KS Polonia Warszawa and MUKS Kosa Konstancin.
Ethan Schaefer is transferring to KC after spending his freshman year at Drexel. The Kansas City native returns home after scoring one goal and dishing one assist in 13 appearances with the Dragons. Prior to his time at Drexel, he competed with Sporting KC Academy.
Ian Witis-Hughes is another FC Dallas product and was the 19th-ranked recruit in the Class of 2025 according to Prep Soccer. He was the second-ranked forward in the state of Texas and was a dual sport athlete, also kicking for the football team as a freshman at Hebron High School.
Kenny Yedmel comes to Kansas City from Bassens, France, where the center back won a French futsal championship. He most recently played for Stade Bordelais B.
