Kansas City Notes

Kansas City Women's Soccer is on the road for the first time this season on Thursday, traveling to Springfield for a meeting with in-state rival Missouri State.
The Roos are seeking out a win in their first road contest for the first time since 2021, when KC defeated Southern Illinois, 3-2. In the past three road openers, the Roos are 0-2-1.
Olivia Platt scored the Roos' first goal of the year in Sunday's loss to Creighton, a penalty kick that evened the score in the 85th minute. The goal was also the first of Platt's career, coming after 33 games and over 1,100 minutes played.
Audrey Brown has made the start in goal for both of the Roos' games thus far in 2025, making a team-high seven saves. Freshman Anika Patton has also appeared in both games, making four saves in just 20 minutes of action.
Ella Reyling became the first freshman to start for Kansas City this season when she joined the Starting 11 against Creighton. She played for 65 minutes, including the full 45 in the first half of play.

Missouri State Notes

Missouri State enters Thursday's contest with a 0-1-1 record, grabbing a 1-1 draw against Nebraska on Sunday for the team's first result of the year.
The Bears were 13-5-3 last season, winning the Missouri Valley and qualifying to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the past three seasons.
Missouri State has had three goal-scorers on the season, Abby Hansen, Rowann Law and Maggie O'Keefe.
Jane Hansen returns to the Bears after winning Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year in 2024 with 16 starts in 21 appearances.
The Roos and Bears have met 14 times in the past, MSU owns an 8-3-3 advantage.
These teams met on Sep. 5 of last season, playing to a 0-0 draw.
