Chrobak Earns Second-Straight Summit League Weekly Honor

Catherine Chrobak went 3-0 on the week, bringing her winning streak to five-straight matches
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After winning three matches this week, all in straight sets, Catherine Chrobak has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Singles Performer of the Week for the second-consecutive week, the league announced today. Chrobak improved her season singles record to 5-1 while playing from the No. 2 position.
Chrobak opened the weekend with a victory over UNLV's Veronica Kliuch, 6-3, 6-2, giving Kansas City its lone point of the match. She followed that up with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Idaho State's Asem Shoybek and closed the weekend with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Utah Tech's Olivia Bustos in KC's win over the Trailblazers.
This marks the third time that the two-time All-League performer has won a weekly award, the previous two coming on Jan. 30, 2024 and Feb. 11, 2025. She becomes the first Roo to be named Summit League Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks since at least 1999.
Kansas City is back in action this weekend with its first home match of the spring season, hosting Bradley at the Genesis KC Racquet Club in Merriam on Saturday at 2 p.m.
