Kansas City Travels to Tulsa, Facing ORU

The Roos and Golden Eagles play tomorrow at 5 p.m.
THE STARTERS
- The Roos starting five has stayed consistent across conference play with Alayna Contreras, Emani Bennett, Elauni Bennett and Kelby Bannerman starting in each game. Thomas in every conference game except for the meeting with Oral Roberts on Jan. 22 when she did not play and was replaced by Alyssa Febres.
- Kansas City will look to snap a two-game losing skid, falling to Omaha and South Dakota.Â
- Saturday's game marks the 58th meeting between the Roos and the Golden Eagles. Oral Roberts is Kansas City's most-played opponent in program history and currently holds the advantage with a 36-21 record over KC and a 19-7 record at home. KC will look for its first win in Tulsa since the Roos defeated the Golden Eagles 101-93 in overtime on Jan. 23, 2021.
- Alayna Contreras (408) and Emani Bennett (407) surpassed the 400-point mark in South Dakota. Contreras scored 22 points, for her fifth 20-point performance of conference play while Em. Bennett added on 11. This marks the first time two Roos have surpassed 400 points in the same season since 2021-22 when Naomie Alnatas (596) and Brooklyn McDavid (505) both reached the 500-point mark.
- Elauni Bennett once again showed defensive dominance, bringing down a game-high tying 10 rebounds at South Dakota. She ranks second in the Summit in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.2 per game.Â
SCOUTING ORAL ROBERTS
- The Golden Eagles rank second in the Summit League with a 9-3 record. Oral Roberts defeated the Mavericks in Omaha 105-74, completing their fourth consecutive sweep of UNO. Wednesday's win and an NSDU loss bumped them up from third place.Â
- ORU holds a four-game win streak over the Roos dating back to Jan. 7, 2023, when Kansas City defeated Oral Roberts 64-54 in KC.Â
- Four Golden Eagles average in the double digits, Taleyah Jones leads Oral Roberts, averaging 17.8 points per game and 444 points this season. She is joined by Jalei Oglesby (17.0), Ruthie Udoumoh (11.9) and Makyra Tramble (11.2).Â
- Oral Roberts has the highest-scoring offense in the Summit League averaging 82.4 points per game. The Roos have the lowest-scoring offense averaging 63.0 points per game, but KC ranks third on defense, holding opponents to 66.0 points per game.Â
