Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City closes out the 2025 regular season on the road with a final match against Omaha at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The Roos and Mavericks clashed earlier this season at the Swinney Center. Kansas City dropped the match 1-3 as the Roos won the third set but lost sets one, two and four.Â
- Kansas City ranks highly in the Summit League in team digs, racking up 1,422 of them this season which slots in third in the Summit as a whole. Additionally, the Roos come in nabbing 14.22 digs per set which is the fourth highest mark in the Summit League.
- The Roos have hit a high rate of attacks in the 2025-26 campaign, sitting at 3,398 total attacks as a team which ranks as the third highest mark in the Summit League. The Roos have also swung 33.98 attacks per set, the fourth best mark in the Summit this season.Â
- Last time out against Omaha, Lyla Jones reached the landmark 1,000 career assist milestone. The senior setter eclipsed the mark on her third dime of 20 total in the match. Jones leads the team in assists with 479 assists this season, ranking as the seventh best mark in the Summit this season. Jones' 4.79 assists per set is also a top 10 mark in the conference this season.Â
- Alaina Larson ranks ninth in the Summit League in digs at 316 while holding a steady rate of 3.19 digs per set in 2025 which ranks as the eighth best mark in the conference. Larson has produced 17 matches of double figure digs including a four match streak of 10-plus digs that was broken in the Roos latest contest against Denver.Â
- Ledisi Kpea anchors the Roos defense, ranking fifth best in the Summit League in total blocks at 104 while averaging 1.04 blocks per set which ranks fourth best in the conference. Kpea's 21 solo blocks is also tied for the second best mark in the Summit. On the other side, Kpea leads the team with 250.5 points, 2.50 points per set and a 2.38 hitting percentage.Â
- Ryanne Wattree leads the Roos offense with 206 kills and a kills per set rate of 2.10, both team highs this season. The sophomore has produced eight matches of double figure kills to date in her breakout year two campaign including a team-best 12 kills against South Dakota last week.Â
- Kansas City has received notable contributions from freshmen this season. Stella Smith has come around as an up-and-coming force in the middle, producing 76.5 points, 62 kills and 24 blocks in 2025. Mia Weaver leads the squad in service aces with 25 while posting 171 points, 132 kills and 210 digs, all top three marks on the team.Â
Omaha Notes
- Omaha comes into the final match of the regular season sitting at 9-15 overall and 6-9 in Summit League play. The Mavericks lost to North Dakota State their last time out in five sets but have won two of their last four matches overall.
- Omaha has found success against Kansas City in the recent past, claiming the last five matches in the all-time series since September 2023 and holding a 13-9 lead in the series' history.
- The Mavericks pose a sizable threat in the front line, boasting four middle blockers/right side hitters who stand 6'3 or taller. Omaha uses that size to their advantage, posting 236.5 total blocks as a team this season, the second best mark in the Summit and 88th nationally. Omaha also comes in with a 2.63 blocks per set rate, ranking second best in the conference and 25th on the national scene.Â
- Leading the charge up front for Omaha is Emily Huss. The 6'5 junior middle blocker is elite at the net, coming in with a 1.58 blocks per set rate, leading the Summit and ranking fifth best in the country. Huss is also top 10 nationally in total blocks with 141 stuffs this season.Â
- Elsewhere, Kali Jurgensmeier leads the Mavs offensively, notching 3.68 kills per set which ranks fourth in the conference. Faith Venable is 24th in the country in aces per set with 0.49 in the 2025 season, also ranking second best in the Summit League
