Kansas City Returns to Swinney for Action Against SDSU

- Kansas City Men's Basketball is back at the friendly confines of the Swinney Center on Thursday for a meeting with South Dakota State. The Roos are 7-1 at home this year and are on a four-game home winning streak with an average margin of victory of 13.0 points per game across those four games.
- The Roos are back at .500 on the year and are an even 6-6 across their last 12 games, with a six-game winning streak sandwiched by a pair of three-game losing streaks. The six-game winning stretch was tied for the second-longest in program history.
- Cameron Faas went for a career-high 20 points against North Dakota, surpassing his previous best of 18. He was KC's leading scorer on the night, setting a career mark in field goal makes and leading the Roos' scoring efforts for the first time this season.
- Saturday also marked the return of Anderson Kopp, who had missed the previous seven games due to back injury. In his return, he scored 12 points, shooting 4-of-8 from three and playing 20 minutes. On the season, he averages 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
- Success comes for Kansas City when it shares the ball and forces its opponents into turnovers. Since Head Coach Marvin Menzies took over, the Roos are 6-1 when forcing 20-plus turnovers and are 13-5 when dishing 15-plus assists. When dishing 10-plus assists and forcing 15-plus turnovers in the same game, KC is 11-4 in the Menzies era.
Scouting South Dakota State
- South Dakota State enters Thursday's game with a 12-8 overall mark and a 3-2 record in Summit League play. The Jackrabbits have won back-to-back games against North Dakota and Oral Roberts.
- SDSU is led by Oscar Cluff, who is the team's leading scorer, rebounder and assist man. Cluff has logged 12 double-doubles on the year, first in the league and third-most in the nation.
- The Jackrabbits can get the job done on both sides of the ball, ranking second in the Summit League in field goal percentage (48.1) and first in field goal percentage defense (41.2).
- SDSU holds a 22-5 advantage in the all-time series. Three of KC's five wins have come in Kansas City.
- The Roos and Jackrabbits split the season series last year with KC earning a 72-67 victory at home.
