Joana Miralles Cardona and Catherine Chrobak each earned All-League nods for the second-straight year
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Kansas City Tennis earned a pair of spots on the Summit's All-League teams this season, as Joana Miralles Cardona earned a First Team nod and Catherine Chrobak was placed on the Honorable Mention team. The pair find themselves on the postseason awards list for the second-straight year as Chrobak was First Team and Miralles Cardona was Honorable Mention last season.
After mostly playing at the No. 4 and 5 spots last season, Miralles Cardona was called upon to make a large jump this year, holding the No. 1 singles spot throughout all of conference play. She earned three wins against Summit League opponents, winning against St. Thomas in three sets and earning straight-set victories against Oral Roberts and Omaha. In addition, she was the only Summit League player to take a set off of Denver's No. 1 player all season.
Chrobak followed up her All-League 2023 year with another solid season, maintaining her spot at the No. 2 singles position. Chrobak opened up conference play with three-straight wins, taking down her opponents from North Dakota, St. Thomas and South Dakota, all in straight sets. She finished the spring season with eight singles victories, the second most on the team.
Kansas City finished the 2024 season with a 5-14 record, but four of the team's top six players, including both Miralles Cardona and Chrobak, will have eligibility remaining as the team enters 2024-25.
