Kansas City Travels to Tulsa

The Roos and Golden Hurricane play Sunday at 2p.m.
THE STARTERS
- Kansas City enters the match looking to pick up its second road win of the season. The Roos picked up their first road victory in their season opener against Utah State, 80-77. Sunday's game marks their second in a four-game road stretch that leads them up to Dec. 29 when KC hosts Westminster.Â
- Both Emani Bennett and Alayna Contreras reached double-digits in KC's loss against Kansas. Bennett scored 15 points and brought down five rebounds while Contreras notched 13 points, four rebounds and two assists. The pair are the only two Roos averaging in the double-digits. Em. Bennett has had nine double-digit games this season and Contreras is just behind her with eight.Â
- Kelby Bannerman put up a strong defensive performance for the Roos against Kansas, bringing down a season-high eight rebounds. She also added an assist, a block and five points including her first three of the season.Â
- Defense has been a focus for Kansas City with the Roos leading the Summit League in steals per game (10.1), turnovers forced per game (19.73) and offensive rebounds (15.3). Â
- The Roos have struggled to get hot beyond the arc averaging 2.2 threes per game. Contreras is Kansas City's best three-point shooter with 16 threes on the season, two times as many as the rest of the Kansas City squad combined.Â
SCOUTING TULSA
- The Golden Hurricane enter the match on a three-game winning streak after picking up a 77-48 win over San Jose State on Tuesday. Tulsa was led by Paige Bradley (17 pts/9 reb), Delanie Crawford (15 pts/6 ast) and Mady Cartwright (12 pts/10 reb)
- This marks the first meeting between Kansas and Tulsa in over five years. The Golden Hurricane hold a 5-0 record over the Roos at home with their most recent win coming on Nov. 18, 2017. Â
- Tulsa hosted Oral Roberts on Nov. 17, falling 56-67 to the Golden Eagles. ORU currently ranks second in the Summit League during preseason play. The Roos host the Golden Eagles on Jan 22. for their first meeting of League play.Â
- After hosting the Roos, Tulsa travels to the West Plam Beach Classic where they will face Montana and Tennessee. The Golden Hurricane then begin conference play on Dec. 29.
