- Kansas City Men's Basketball comes home on the tail of a 69-64 win over Portland on Tuesday, the Roos' first road win of the season. Now, KC will look to improve its 3-1 home record against Bowling Green on Saturday.
- Making his second consecutive start, Babacar Diallo played a huge role in the Roos' win over the Pilots. He scored eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, setting a career high with eight assists and tying his career high with five steals. He also hit a floater in the lane with 1:35 remaining to put KC ahead by three points and help secure the victory.
- Jamar Brown notched 20 points against Portland, his fourth 20-point game of the season and the 10th of his career. Brown leads the Roos and ranks top-10 in the Summit League in points, rebounds and steals per game.
- The Roos were out-rebounded by the Pilots on Tuesday but still found a way to pull out the win. Kansas City is now 1-4 this season when losing the battle of the boards and 4-24 in the Coach Menzies era.
- The Roos have remained reliable from the charity stripe, shooting 76.1% from the line as a team, a mark that is good for 55th in the nation. Across the past five games, the Roos have gone 74-of-92 from the line (80.4%).
Scouting Bowling Green
- Bowling Green enters the game on Saturday with a 4-5 record, but are 0-3 in road contests. The Falcons won their most recent game, a 102-81 decision over Morgan State.
- Senior forward Marcus Johnson leads BGSU's scoring efforts, averaging 16.6 points per game on 46.4% shooting from the field.
- BGSU Head Coach Todd Simon and KC Head Coach Marvin Menzies both spent time at UNLV. Simon was there from 2015-16 and was immediately followed by Menzies from 2016-19.
- These teams have met twice in the past, both times at Bowling Green. The first two games have resulted in one win for each side.
- The Roos and Falcons played on Dec. 16 of last season, a 79-69 victory for BGSU.
