
Clear Bag Policy to Take Effect in 2025

KANSAS CITY - In the interest of the safety of student-athletes, staff and fans, Kansas City Athletics has announced new security measures being implemented, including touchless metal detector screening and a clear bag policy that will impact all home athletics events beginning in 2025. The policy limits what bags can be brought in to KC Roos Athletic venues and will take effect on Jan. 2, 2025 as the Roos' men's basketball team takes on South Dakota at 7 p.m.
Fans are encouraged not to bring any types of bags inside KC Roos venues during games; however, the following outlines bags that are permitted:
As a reminder, firearms and weapons are prohibited on UMKC property including at Kansas City Athletics events, except for university agents or employees in the line of duty.

Fans are encouraged not to bring any types of bags inside KC Roos venues during games; however, the following outlines bags that are permitted:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12".
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc or similar).
- Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand).
- An institutionally approved logo no larger than 4.5" x 3.4" may be displayed on one side of a permissible-sized clear bag.
