
Pore Coach of the Year; Kisoka Offensive Player of the Year; Roos All Over All-Summit Lists

12 Kansas City players were honored with postseason awards, the most in program history
SIOUX FALLS - Following a historic regular season that saw Kansas City Men's Soccer put together an 11-4-3 record and clinch its highest postseason seed since 2012, the Roos have been honored in historic fashion on the All-Summit League teams. Elie Kisoka was named Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, the first Roo to win offensive player of the year since 2010. Head Coach Ryan Pore was named Coach of the Year, the second honor of his career.Â
Julien Le Bourdoulous and Fernando Somolinos Bravo joined Kisoka on the All-League First Team, while Raphael Kistmann earned Second Team honors. Seven additional Kansas City players were named to the Honorable Mention All-League team: Hector Taboada, Jeremy Francou, Mathias Baucher, Gabriele Galluccio, Bryson Gosch, Wesley Cribb and Brevyn Cole. Goalkeeper Brandon McGaugh earned a spot on the All-Newcomer team, joining Kisoka, Francou, Kistmann, Baucher, Somolinos Bravo and Cribb.
In total, the Roos had 12 players named to the All-League teams, the most honorees in the league. It is the most single-season postseason honors that Kansas City has had in program history, surpassing the 1996 squad, which had seven.
Pore has led Kansas City to its most wins since the 2001 season and its first win over a ranked team since 2008, defeating No. 3 Denver, 1-0, on Oct. 12. The Roos were selected for a fourth-place finish in the preseason poll but exceeded those expectations and finished second. His offense averages 2.67 goals per game, the fourth-most in the NCAA, and has a goal differential of 23, the seventh-best in the nation. He also won Coach of the Year honors in 2020, bringing home the seventh coach of the year award in program history.
Kisoka has made a splash in his first year in Kansas City, leading the league in goals (11), points (28), shots (61) and game-winners (5) while ranking tied for third in assists (6). He becomes the first Kansas City player to win Offensive Player of the Year since John Bayron Sosa in 2010 and the first to win Newcomer of the Year since Jordan Rideout in 2011.
Le Bourdoulous adds First Team All-League honors to his trophy case for the second-straight season, becoming the first KC player to do so since Cooper Clark in 2020 and 2021. He has started in 16 out of 16 appearances, tying for the team lead with six assists and scoring one goal on the year.
Somolinos Bravo joined the Roos this season as well, making 14 starts in 17 appearances. He has proven to be an offensive threat from the back line, going for four assists and scoring one goal on the season.
Kistmann is the lone Roo to earn a spot on the All-League Second Team, ranking third in the league with 22 points, tied for fourth with eight goals and tied for third with six assists. He is one of just three players in the league this season with at least five goals and five assists.
Taboada appeared in 16 games, making five starts on the year and ranks third in the league with nine goals. He took down the Roos' single-game goals record, scoring five goals against Avila on Nov. 3.
Francou has seen an uptick in playing time since the start of conference play, appearing in six games total. He has scored three goals and logged two assists on the year, including a game-winner in the Roos' win over Oral Roberts on Nov. 9
Baucher has been a key piece of the midfield for KC, making seven starts in 17 appearances. He scored one goal and logged one assist in the regular season.
Galluccio made three starts in 13 appearances, going for one goal and three assists. Three of his five points on the year have come in Summit League play.
Gosch has been a rock in the Roos' defense, making 17 starts and playing 1,408 minutes on the year. He played the full 90 minutes in five conference games and has dished one assist on the season.
Cribb made his collegiate debut in KC's win over Denver on Oct. 12 and has started in every game since. He scored one goal, coming against Oral Roberts in the regular season finale.
Cole has started in each of his 16 appearances this season, scoring one goal and logging two assists. He scored the late equalizer in a draw with Mercer, the first goal of his collegiate career.
McGaugh has been Kansas City's rock in the goal, winning Summit Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honors twice. He has played 1,530 minutes on the year, making 60 saves and going for four shutouts, tied for fifth-most in program history.
The Roos will look to clinch an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, taking on top-seeded Denver at 3 p.m. CT in the Summit League Championship.
